ABSTRACT

The period from 1926 until 1929 was among the most prolific phases of Laban’s creative life. In 1926, he published three significant books: Choreography: Volume One, Gymnastics and Dance, which has an enclosure entitled ‘Practical exercises’ with outlines of his movement classification including references to punch/hit, press/pull as some of basic types of expression, and Gymnastics and Dance for Children.
