ABSTRACT
William J. Broz is Assistant Professor of English Education in the English Department at the University of Texas-Pan American. He was a columnist for the ALAN Review and is the author of several articles on YA literature, including “Hope and Irony: Annie on My Mind,” which won the English Journal ’s 2002 Hopkins Award. He taught high school English in Iowa for over 20 years.
