Thanatourism and the commodification of space in post-war Croatia and Bosnia

Dark tourism, or thanatourism, is defined as travel to a site primarily or partially motivated by a desire to encounter death (Seaton 1996), and much fascination with the topic has emerged over the past decade. Research has been carried out into many facets of dark tourism, and it has quickly become accepted as one of the most striking themes in the literature on postmass tourism.
