ABSTRACT
The arguments used in Joseph Turow’s chapter are bigger than one may initially see. This critique opens with a summary of the broad sweep of his comments, pointing to some diversions from his line of thinking and commenting briefly upon the case study offered. The larger focus, however, is on expanding upon important themes embedded in Turow’s piece. The first section will explore and elaborate upon some theoretical issues raised in Turow’s chapter and suggest some directions for movement; the following section does the same for the methodological and research issues he raises.
