ABSTRACT
PERSON” is the most valuable label that an entity can possess. Once labeled a “person” or a “self,” an entity acquires an enormous range of rights and privileges. In every society, a “person” is protected by a rich and varied set of rules and regulations not available to “nonpersons” or things. “Persons” are assumed to have consciousness, understanding, emotions, and a host of other unique capabilities.
