ABSTRACT

Physical education is the only school curriculum subject that focuses on the study of movement, bodies, physicality, and sport. As such, it provides opportunities for embodied curriculum learning as well as exploration of critical issues associated with racialized and gendered bodies in a variety of cultural contexts. Physical education, then, is a unique and potent context for the exploration of issues close to the heart of critical multiculturalism, antiracist education, and critical race theory.
