Introduction

The curriculum has a number of over-arching aims at Key Stage 3 with regard to learners’ development. These aims should be borne in mind when teachers are developing specific programmes of learning for specific activity areas. These general aims of the Key Stage curriculum for 2008 include the development of:

• successful learners • confident individuals • responsible citizens.
