The social and cultural management of sport: contemporary arguments concerning the case for specificity

European Commission White Paper on Sport – a paper published in 2007 by the European Commission which essentially had two key themes – first, recognition of the specificity of sport and its rules including the importance of preserving competitive balance throughout European sports leagues, and, second, further advancement of the so-called European Model of Sport.
