ABSTRACT

A huge amount of energy and enthusiasm has been invested in work through schools to improve the health and well-being of children and young people. Throughout the UK and in many other countries, significant effort has been expended in planning, securing funding, building partnerships and delivering services, programmes and activities to achieve this goal. Too often, however, evaluation is an afterthought or is even omitted completely. Without evaluation, however, many opportunities can be lost. It will be hard to understand what has been achieved, to share learning with others and to make the case for continuation or expansion of the activity.
