ABSTRACT

The object of this paper is to propose a method of project risk management in new product design. This method, called Project Information Failure Analysis (PIFA), is destined to project managers, within the scope of quality assurance methodology (ISO 9001). It is based on an original concept of project modelling in the form of information processors. The concept that we propose enables risk failure analysis of these processors and studies the effect of these failures on the different project scenarios developed with processors. The method contains a preliminary forecast analysis when the project scenario is developed, a corrective analysis during project management, and allows to capitalise on the acquired experience concerning risks management for future projects. This method has been applied until now in addition to methods of costs and time management in focusing more particularly to the capacity of a project to ensure that technical requirements of the product are reached. It has been applied in a spirit of quality assurance in new product design.
