A risk method should be effective, efficient and accepted. Based upon the experiences with the development and application of the Risk Diagnosing Methodology RDM the requirements for a successful approach are discussed. The basics of the method have been developed a few years ago [1]. Since experience has been gained in several R&D intensive firms. It has become clear that for a risk method to be successfully anchored within an organisation, it is necessary to anticipate a number of organisational conditions.
