ABSTRACT

Business reengineering programmes are set up to create competitive advantage. These programmes typically involve multiple, inter-related and mission-critical projects that are very large and complex in nature. The purpose of the programme management is to ensure that programme objectives are met. Risks stand in the way, and therefore risk management is the key element in successful implementation of business change. A risk does not have a “goodness” or “badness” component. It is just a fact of life that needs to be controlled in a well-organised and disciplined manner.
