ABSTRACT

A large body of the research has examined the role of individual factors in the development and maintenance of health risk behaviors (Brannon & Feist, 2007; Marks et al., 2004; Ogden, 2007; Sarafino, 2004). Health risk behaviors are those that are known to contribute illness and injury and the leading causes of death, disability, and social problems among youth and adults. These include drinking excessively, using drugs, eating too much and becoming overweight, and undertaking too little physical activity.
