Conversation as the primary social reality: Introduction to Part II

Part II of this book brings together three Harré texts that explore the centrality of conversations in both social reality and the study of that reality. Three fundamental insights are dealt with in the following chapters: (i) that ‘grammars’ play a central role in psychology, (ii) that ‘positions’ are key concepts in studying social interactions and (iii) that cognitive skills are first social before they become appropriated as personal skills.
