ABSTRACT
The introductory chapter to this volume explored the argument that public policy implementation and public services delivery have evolved across three regimes over the past century – from Public Administration (PA), through the New Public Management (NPM) and hence on to what has been termed here “the New Public Governance” (NPG) in the contemporary state. The subsequent chapters of this volume have then explored the reality of this regime shift in current public policy and public services delivery.
