ABSTRACT
Feminism is expanding and changing the content of philosophical work, it is producing new readings of the history of philosophy, and it is challenging philosophy’s traditional methods and goals. I discuss here feminism and philosophy in the culture I live in—roughly, Western culture. Non-Western cultures have different philosophical traditions and, in many cases, different feminist movements, so this discussion is not likely to apply directly to feminism and philosophy in other cultures.
