ABSTRACT
Models can help to clarify and communicate ideas, processes and relationships. They may act as conceptual lenses through which to view the world. They can help researchers to identify, classify and characterise objects and situations they are studying and to decide their importance and significance. Some models support statistical analysis, some are applied to qualitative data, while others support conceptual understanding.
