In the spirit of public pedagogy and performance art, Steve and I use these notions of identity and diff erence to our advantage in our project. As I will discuss below, I believe that autobiography informs and guides my approach to public pedagogy. In fact, my commitment to social justice, queer theory, and arts-based research emerges from the work of William Pinar (2004) on currere.
