ABSTRACT

What is mental health? This is a question that raises a number of issues and has led to heated debates among the professionals responsible for the care and treatment of those who suffer with mental health problems. The irrefutable fact is that each of us possesses mental health in the same way that we are either well or ill physically. The crux of the argument rests in what forms this illness, or mental ill health, takes and more importantly for us, how it can manifest in childhood.
