ABSTRACT
This chapter describes some of the most interesting geotourism sites in Slovakia. Apart from surface phenomena, caves and mining heritage sites are also mentioned. A short description of the geological setup of the country is followed by a brief outline of the history of geotourism in Slovakia. To indicate the development dynamics of geotourism, the aims and impacts of the relevant government policies are discussed addressing the question of the sustainability of geotourism.
