ABSTRACT
An integrated and well-balanced tourism development for any territory must take full advantage of all the resources that are available there to be exploited and, at the same time, must treat them with proper respect. Among such resources, the history and culture of the place are inherited assets that form part of our collective heritage; the visitor should be able to access these resources in order to get to know the place and, through that knowledge, to appreciate and value it (Gunn, 1994; Hall, 2000; Inskeep, 1988).
