ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on one research study undertaken during the period 1999–2000. The study brought together a mental health service user group (ForUs) and a group of university-based lecturers in a project to explore the views of mental health service users concerning their experience of medication and other therapies. The chapter is written by the lecturer responsible for co-ordinating the project (Ruth) and someone who, at the time of the study, was one of the student nurses involved in data collection (Paul).
