ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the links between trust and perceptions of ICTs and E-Government and how they may be affected by media coverage. The introduction of E-Government has often been heralded as the beginning of a bright new future, modernising government and its interactions with citizens. However, the very nature of most E-Government processes and procedures means that they do not always entail a harmonious and happy user interface. Facilitation of communication channels has little impact upon the quality of information provided.
