ABSTRACT

This chapter presents preliminary conceptual arguments and insights pertaining to an innovative research project in progress. The project studies whether and how international organisations – particularly ones which represent major world regions (e.g. Europe) but also some consisting of countries of varied levels of economic performance (e.g. large parts of Africa, Latin America and South-East Asia) – utilise E-Government mechanisms, techniques and processes, not only within their own specific structures or to interact with their constituent institutions and member states, but also as a tool of communication with other international and non-governmental organisations for the purposes of information exchange, consultation or even co-ordinated action in matters of economic development and conflict.
