ABSTRACT

Now that we have seen in great detail what the variations are in career experiences around the world, how can these findings be used to produce practical benefit in contemporary work settings? As we said at the beginning of this research journey, our aim was to see if culture and country made a difference in the ways that career dynamics play out in the global economy. As much of the existing research on careers has been rooted in particular cultures, mainly Western and developed, we saw a strong need for good empirical data to guide future career management practice around the world.
