ABSTRACT

John M. Gottman is an internationally known family therapist, and author of the best-selling books: Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work , The Marriage Clinic, What Predicts Divorce? , And Baby Makes Three , and The Relationship Cure . He is the director of the Relationship Research Institute in Seattle, Washington where he directs research projects related to couples in confl ict, and young families in transition to parenthood. He also is the co-founder of the Gottman Institute which is dedicated to the advanced training of couples and family therapists. He also conducts marathon workshops for couples, as well as provides individual consultation with couples (along with his wife, Dr Julie SchwartzGottman). His latest book, The Science of Trust investigates the role of trust and betrayal in couples’ lives. He agreed to participate in an interview in July, 2008 with Paul Peluso.
