Youth participation in indigenous traditional communities

This chapter discusses the meaning of youth participation in indigenous traditional communities in Mexico. It draws on the results of a series of in-depth interviews with young people who have taken part both in projects supported by civil associations and in projects developed from within the community. Its main purpose is to introduce some of the most frequent ways in which the young engage in collective activities, as well as the lessons and obstacles that this type of participation entails for them. All quotations in the chapter are from the interviews with young people.
