ABSTRACT
It is not easy for a historian to grasp the Holocaust. It is even more difficult, when one does not specialize in these questions, to judge the work of others who, on all levels, have attempted to inform us about the monumental event which rends the heart of our century: the genocide of the Jews and Gypsies.
