ABSTRACT

Communication researchers Riddle, Anderson, and Martin (2000) developed the Small Group Socialization Scale (SGSS) to measure “people’s perceptions of the communication effectiveness of group communication that includes task and relationship dimensions” (p. 555). The measure flows from two socialization models explicated by Anderson, Riddle, and Martin (1999) that conceptualized how members and groups reciprocally affect each other and group work as well as how communication affects, and is affected by, socialization processes within the group.
