ABSTRACT
The survey upon which much of the information used in this chapter is based was conducted from September 2006 to October 2007. Fourteen out of the twenty-three potential countries (countries participating in the COST Action E33 at the time) responded. Thus it is not completely comprehensive. However, it reflects a range of countries from each European region. The survey also represents a snapshot of time. However, being the first such survey to look across the whole of Europe, it shows some interesting and potentially unexpected results and points to some important aspects valuable for strategic planning approaches as discussed in Chapter 7.
