ABSTRACT

Global environmental change is one of the major challenges facing business in the twenty-fi rst century. Whether it be how they adapt to such change or whether they can conduct business at all. There is hardly a day that goes by when the media do not cover an element of environmental change in their news coverage, whether it be stories surrounding climate change, the increasing costs of fuel, or concern over food security. Tourism, and tourism enterprises, are deeply embedded in change issues both in terms of the contribution that tourism makes to global environmental change and the effects of such changes on tourism and tourism fi rms.
