ABSTRACT
After noting the signifi cant growth of strata titled tourism accommodation (STTA) in Australia over the last twenty-fi ve years, this chapter provides a consideration of using STTA for fi nancing the construction of short-term accommodation infrastructure and its effects on the sustainability of a destination. More specifi cally, ways are outlined in which STTA developments have the potential to both contribute to and compromise meeting sustainable development criteria for tourism destinations.
