ABSTRACT

In the following examples, which are not necessarily initial in the texts, the verb comes first in the sentence and no noun phrase is treated as given. Here the whole sentence is regarded as new information. The majority of the examples given are from Ingham (1995), while a few are from Ingham (1982a) and (1986b). The latter are marked NEAD and Dh respectively. In some examples preceding text is included in brackets to give some idea of the linguistic context.
