ABSTRACT
Barriga llena, corazon contento (When the stomach is full, the heart is full). My mother oft en refers to this underground slogan used during the Cuban revolution which pointed to the simple correlation between ideology and social materiality. In this chapter, I bring the relationship between a full stomach and a full heart to the fore-to critically envision social justice education for Latina/o students is to re-imagine our material conditions.
