ABSTRACT

I have made a career out of thinking about government bureaucracies and the way they function, but the questions that fascinate me most these days relate to the origins of attitudes, preferences, and ideologies-the premises of political choice, if you will. These are not questions that I am accustomed to studying, but they’re sufficiently fascinating that I’m tempted to get a second PhD in Government, enlist Sid Verba as my advisor (including any and all necessary bribery to make that happen), and start cracking at new queries.
