ABSTRACT
For the past 40 years, political science research has demonstrated the basic political competence of American voters. Without the necessity of footnotes, any specialist in voting behavior-and most of their colleaguescould reel off a roster of all-stars (may I give a hint with the name of V.O. Key?) who provided excellent studies to support this fundamental conclusion.
