The literature on public opinion and political behavior needs to be more attentive to the effects of migration. According to the International Organization for Migration, international migration has reached its highest level ever, and its growth is likely to continue. Social scientists and policymakers in the U.S. and immigrant-receiving countries therefore need to pay increased attention to immigration and its effects.
