ABSTRACT
In the rapidly developing field of education policy, new findings of policy significance are emerging at an increasingly rapid rate. Although some of the new findings remain controversial, multiple studies provide surprisingly strong support for the following propositions:
• Variation in school expenditures is very weakly correlated with student performance, even when student background and many other factors are taken into account.
