ABSTRACT

The main goal of this work is to use established scientific knowledge, modern statistical techniques and the large database provided by the LARES study (Bonnefoy et al 2003, Bonnefoy et al 2004; WHO 2005) to develop and validate simple scores and indicators measuring Health. These Quality of Housing scores are based on responses to variables (questions) included in two of the LARES instruments: from the Housing and Health Questionnaire (HH) completed by inhabitants and from the Housing Inspection Survey Sheet (HI) completed by the surveyors. In a second step, again using the same database, and using the health scores and indicators created, a prognostic model was developed with Housing Conditions as explanatory and Health scores as response variables.
