ABSTRACT

This chapter examines the role of cultural flagships in relation to regeneration and discusses to what extent they create a legacy with the urban landscape and its communities. It demonstrates the necessity of having a clear vision and policy from the outset and the importance of stable support from stakeholders who align with the vision. The development of a successful cultural flagship also highlights the need to manage media relationships since their coverage of the project is influential in shaping public perceptions of the project’s legacy.
