ABSTRACT

However, I will ‰rst review the issues of termination in Freud and Klein and then, using some clinical material of my own, try to look at the necessary conversion of circular analytic movement into linear development for the ending of analysis. I turn ‰rst to Freud’s paper “Analysis Terminable and Interminable” (1937) and then Melanie Klein’s paper “On the Criteria for the Termination of a Psycho-Analysis” (1950).
