ABSTRACT
This chapter describes three linked elements of longitudinal research that are being undertaken by Statistics Canada to explore the acquisition, maintenance, and loss of literacy skill and related implications for public policy. The three studies are:
The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) 2000 Programme for International Student Assessment and Youth in Transition longitudinal study (PISA/YITS) being conducted by Statistics Canada.
