ABSTRACT

You will be at your most vulnerable in the period between the technical rehearsal and press night. The approach of the first public performances will affect you in one way or another, however stable or happy you may feel about the work you have made in the rehearsal room. Do not let the anxiety about the imminent performances, or press night, cloud your judgement, or change the way in which you work, or conduct any of your relationships – with either the actors or your creative team. This anxiety can hit you at any point in the process up until press night. Manage this by continuing to stand by the language and goals you set in the rehearsal room. That way you will get the best work from everyone.
