With his delicate features and constant smile, SAM GLADDING is easily approachable. Add to the mix a soft North Carolina accent and a relaxed, easy-going manner, and you would never guess that he has been a university administrator for the past decade. He looks more like a preschool teacher. The only giveaway that he works with grown-ups, and especially those at the highest levels of university administration, is his immaculate appearance.
