ABSTRACT

The relationship between globalization and the defence economy has emerged as a significant issue in the growing debate on globalization and national security. Propelled by rapid changes in technology and communications, globalization is essentially an effort at integration of trade, markets and economies. Perceptions of how globalization opens the economies of nation-states to global integration, and what its implications are for the national security of states that are considered monolithic entities of state sovereignty, have become issues of debate.
