ABSTRACT

Corruption is at the top of the Russian agenda. Russia’s rank on Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) places it among the most problematic countries in the world. The 2006 CPI gave Russia an absolute score of 2.5 on its scale of 0 to 10, with 0 being the worst. This number was slightly better than 2005’s 2.4, but still ranked Russia 121st out of the 163 countries on the list. 1
