ABSTRACT

The decisions made by school psychologists have an impact on children, families, and schools. To build and maintain public trust in school psychologists and and in the field of psychology, every practitioner must be sensitive to the ethical components of his or her work, knowledgeable of broad ethical principles and rules of professional conduct, and committed to a proactive stance in ethical thinking and conduct. In addition, many aspects of school psychological practice are regulated by law. To safeguard the legal rights of pupils and families, practitioners also must know and respect law.
