ABSTRACT

Women’s football is a young sports discipline and thus it needs to be examined and constantly observed. More and more scientific research in Poland is concentrated on women’s football (Bergier 1997, 2005; Bergier and Buraczewski 2005; Bergier and Soroka 2005a, 2005b, 2006). Sports events of the highest rank such as the European Championship provide opportunities to observe changes and trends among the top teams in women’s football. Quantitative and qualitative data derived from the observation of players’ actions during the game contributes to the rationalization of training programmes for these players.
