ABSTRACT
The games of the top four teams in the Asian Qualifying Tournament (AQT) for the 2006 Women’s Rugby World Cup 2006 (2006 WRWC) held in Thailand and the games of the top four teams of 2006 WRWC held in Canada were analysed. The top four games of the AQT were recorded using a digital video camera. The recorded data were captured into a computer, converted to MPG file and then analysed using ‘Power Analysis’ (Smile Works Co). The results of the 2006 WRWC were derived from the data from the International Rugby Board (IRB). The number of tries, penalty goals, line-outs, scrums, maul/rucks, passes, length of in-play time and kicking were adopted as measures for game assessment. These variables were determined based on the report of the 2003 Rugby World Cup (2003 RWC).
