ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to give an overview of how the project ‘Arctic Oil and Gas – Sustainability at Risk’ was developed and carried out, and to describe the framework and methodological approach that underpins the country studies of Alaska, Canada, Norway and Russia (Chapters 7 to 10). Our approach to collecting, understanding and presenting the data is based on a framework flowing from regulation theory and discourse analysis as our research methodology.
